Description: 知恩院大釣鐘を鐘楼西側から東に望む。鉄製の柵がめぐらされた鐘楼の周囲には、着物姿の紳士淑女が鐘を見つめている。知恩院大釣鐘は吉水の鐘とも呼ばれ、寛永13年(1636)に三条釜座によって鋳造された日本最大の銅鐘である。高さ5.4m、口径2.7m、厚さ29cm、重量約7.5t(約2万貫)である。1904年イギリス人写真家H・G・ポンティングの撮影。 / The big bell of Chion-in Temple is seen from the west side of the bell tower. Men and women in kimono are looking at the bell over the iron fence. Also called "Yoshimizu's Bell," this is the largest bronze bell in Japan and was cast at Sanjo-Kamanza foundry in 1636. It is 5.4m high, 2.7m in diameter, 29cm thick, and weighs 7.5 tons. This was taken by British photographer H. G. Ponting in 1904.
