Abstract: The garbage problem occurs by the human industry activity. Especially, the occurrence of the garbage is increasing as the consumption society develops and the life style changes. Today, the garbage problem is not the problem of merely individual but the problem to threaten the earth environment in the country and the whole world. In this study it tried about the maintenance and management of the large-scale waste landfill in the Osaka and Tokyo cities by the satellite remote sensing data. And also it examined how it was possible to utilize remote sensing technique for the large waste landfill maintenance and management concretely. From the result of this study the condition in the landfill could be grasped by measuring the temperature of landfill surface.
