Abstract: Change of tidal current due to the alteration of geographical feature of the Isahaya Bay was calculated using the three-dimensional hydrodynamic simulation model, and the influences to spatial distribution of a substance were predicted. Calculated results show that the substance near sea bed is brought by current to the upper layer during the ebb tide and, otherwise, returned to the lower layer in ebb tide. Comparing the simulated results obtained under two tidal conditions, spring and neap tide, the velocity of tidal current becomes small under the neap tide, and the water exchange of vertical direction is weak at the dredged area. Accordingly, it seems that the hydraulic retention time of water is to be large around the dredged area, and the chemical and biological processes have important role in the water quality changes.
