Abstract: ZnO twinned crystals with a composition plane (1122) or (1011) were grown by oxidizing ZnSe in the vapor phase. A twinned crystal is composed of two plate crystals grown in the +c and -c directions. CdS and CdSe twinned crystals with a composition plane (1011) were also grown by the sublimation method. The twin crystals look like branch crystals growing around an original (central) c-needle which grow in the -c direction. These branch crystals make an angle of 56° with the original c-needle. They grow in the +c direction in CdS and in the -c direction in CdSe.
