Description: 明治後期から大正期(1890~1920)の手彩色の絵葉書。『崇福寺ノ大釜』と題されている。唐僧が飢餓救済のため施粥(せじゅく)のために天保(1682)に造った大釜で、済貧鍋、巨鍋等と呼ばれた。現存し、長崎市指定文化財。 / This hand-tinted picture postcard published between 1890 and 1920 is entitled "Large Iron Pot of Sofukuji, Nagasaki." A Chinese monk made the pot in 1682 to feed the masses during a famine. It has been called the "Pot to Save the Poor," the "Cauldron" and other names. Designated a Cultural Asset by Nagasaki City, it remains in the temple precincts to this day.
