Abstract: Primary Candida pneumonia is rare, and detailed reports of Candida glabrata pneumonia have not been described. A 71-year-old woman had been treated for heart failure and developed aspiration pneumonia, which was refractory to antibacterial treatment. Antifungal treatment against C. glabrata resulted in resolution of pneumonia and candidemia. We report a probable case of C. glabrata pneumonia.
