Abstract: The importance of nutrition education in school education is strongly pointed out because of many dietary problems. In 2005, nutrition teacher system was established, and the teacher aimed to improve child fitness and promoting health by forging desirable eating habits. We investigated the amount of leftover in school provided-lunch and the situation of nutrition teacher in school. In the first case, the result revealed that although vegetable meals tended to be left, approach by nutrition staff could improve it. In the second case, the nutrition teacher taught not only nutrition of school lunch but also subjects to maximize the effect of nutrition education. Nutrition teacher tried to teach children about nutrition through multidisciplinary activity. Furthermore, nutrition teacher played important role of regional alliances. Nutrition teachers begin to acquire new role “galvanizing community” by enhancing these current challenges of nutrition education.
