抄録: The contaminated surface is simulated by an electrolytic aqueous solution in which the point-plane electrodes are placed. When the impulse voltage is applied to the electrodes, the partial discharge occurs at the point electrode and then grows in the direction of the plane electrode. Finally the flashover occurs when the two electrodes are bridged owing to the partial discharge. It is considered that the partial discharge is considerably conductive. Then the author has studied about the resistance of the partial discharge on the contaminated surface by means of measuring in detail the growth of the partial discharge using two photomul-tipliers.
