Abstract: It is known recently that parametric 3/2-harmonic oscillation occurs when 3/2 times excitation frequency in a self-excited coefficient excitation circuit is in the neighborhood of the resonance frequency of the circuit. In this paper, pararnetric 3/2-harmonic oscillation is discussed analytically by using a nonlinearized Mathieu equation, The fundamental equations concerning with the amplitudes of parametric 3/2-harmonic oscillation assuming the frequency components of 1/2- and 3/2-harmonic oscillations are derived, and discussed graphically. Numerical computations are carried out for the fundamental equations, and response curve, jump phenomenon, and hysteresis for the case when the parameters vary are described. Furthermore, the stability of the periodic solution is analyzed.
