Abstract: A numerical solution of a linear differential equation with a periodic input is obtained by computing over the series of cycles. When the inputs of the equations are piecewise constant, another method is proposed to obtain the numerical solution of the equations in this paper. We consider the piecewise constant input as the output of the sample-and zero-order-hold device. This method gives first the initial value exactly and simply. Then we obtain the solution by computation on the interval of only one cycle.
