Abstract: Recently, acoustic emission (AE) has been applied as one of the most useful technique for detecting microscopic flaws and cracks occuring in material. In this paper, a relation between crack opening displacement and acoustic emission characteristics in COD bending test was investigated using AE technique. And the fracture phenomenon at notch tip of COD test specimen was especially studied in connection with AE characteristics.
