抄録: It is practical that the coefficient of earth pressure at rest, K0, is expressed by the function of internal friction angle in effective stress, φ', although it has a fault in theoretical strictness. But φ' at field of sandy soils is usually estimated from N-value by the standard penetration test, so that from a practical point of view it is desirable to obtain the relation betwcen N-value and φ'. In this paper, firstly, a simple relation between N-value and φ' introduced a term of effective overburden pressure which has not been considered in the past is newly presented. Secondly, combining the above N-φ' relation with the Jaky's or author's equation about K0, a method employing N-value as a simple and practical calculation method of earth pressure at rest of sandy soils is presented, and its application to field problems is verified by comparison with the measured values of earth pressure for an underground retaining wall at field.
