Abstract: Applying the Poynting's theorem and the Parseval's theorem to the calculation of the complex power flow from the primary to the secondary, the expression of the equivalent secondary impedance, which has not been believed to be obtained in the conventional analyses based on the spatial Fourier transform, for the single-layered and the double-layered LIMs is readily obtained by the residue calculation in the complex wave number space. In the paper, the theoretical comparison between the performance characteristics under constant voltage operation using the above Fourier transform method and the Fourier series method is conducted.
