Abstract: Wakato Bridge is the oldest long span suspension bridge in Japan and the widening of the road of the bridge was carried out in 1990. The purpose of our study is to evaluate the change of dynamic properties due to this refreshment. The paper shows natural frequencies and modes of the bridge before refreshment. The vertical, torsional and horizontal vibrations are obtained by a finite element method and compared with experimental results.
