Abstract: PID controller has been used for many process control systems. However, it is difficult to determine appropriate gains in this controller. As tuning method of these gains there are real time tuning method and ones of analyzing data of constant time. In this paper we applied the latter's and use characteristic parameters of step response as data of constant time. In the beginning constitution of I-PD control system is described. Definition of characteristic parameters and method of fuzzy reasoning are presented. We proposed using manipulated value as characteristic parameter. Next, we show simulation results using three methods. We applied fuzzy auto-tuning technique to lamp load control system and show that this method is effective.
