Abstract: We prospectively investigated the efficacy of an external pancreatic duct stent to prevent pancreatic fistula in the nonfibrotic pancreas after pancreaticojejunostomy, in which the degree of pancreatic fibrosis was assessed objectively by using dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
