Abstract: In this paper, we deal with international labor movement in a two-country macroeconomic model to show that directions of international labor movement depend on factors initiating such movement. We investigate cases where workers move between two countries because of differences in real consumption wages - nominal wages divided by the consumer price index - and differences in expected real consumption wages - real consumption wages multiplied by the probability of workers being employed. We find that it is very likely that directions of international labor movement caused by differences in real consumption wages and expected real consumption wages are opposite.
