Abstract: The sensitivity of TAKIKAWA's so-called pathogenic halophilic bacteria to chlortetracycline (CTC) has been tested by varying cultural temperature or the concentrations of sodium chloride in media. The results obitaned are as follows: 1) In the nutrient broth containing 3 per cent sodium chloride, the minimal growth inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the 21 strains of "pathogenic halophilic bacteria " to CTC was the range of 0.25 to 1.75 ppm. These results of MIC appear to be the same degree in MIC against the bacteria isolated from sea water (Table 1 and 2). 2) Influence of lowering the temperature from 37℃ to 20℃ of incubation resulted in a decrease of MIC as shown in Table 3. The differences in MIC at 20℃ and 37℃ respectively varied with the test strain of "pathogenic halophilic bacteria ". 3) In the nutrient broth prepared with sea water, MIC of " pathogenic halophilic bacteria " to CTC was relatively high values, 20 to 35 ppm. However, MIC in sea water media was lowered by decreasing salinity in the media (Fig. 1). The MIC of CTC against " pathogenic halophilic bacteria " in the media prepared with a diluted sea water to six-fold was approximately 5 to 10 ppm. These tendencies were also recognized from the experiments on the media containing the different concentrations of sodium chloride (Table 4) / 病原性好塩細菌のクロールテトラサイクリン感受性について,培養温度並びに培地中の塩分濃度の影響について試験した. 1) 3%食塩肉汁培地中では病原性好塩細菌に対するCTCのMICは0.25~1.75ppmであって,海水から分離したPseudomonas属に対するそれと同程度であった. 2) MICは37℃培養で最も大きく,温度が低い程小さくなる.試験温度によるMICの相違の程度は菌株によって異った, 3) 食塩含有培地では食塩濃度が低い程MICも低下した.海水調製肉汁ではMICは20-35ppmの高い値で,稀釈するに伴い低下し,6倍稀釈海水の肉汁培地では5~10ppmであった.
