Abstract: The resonance phenomena of a string with nonuniform mass density driven one end by a speaker are considered by applying the multiple wave theory. Analysis of modes of vibration and calculation of the frequencies are done. The results are the same as the case of a string with nonuniform mass density fixed at both ends.
