Abstract: A correlation between endurance performance and ventilalory threshold, VO2max and every running time (100m to 10km) were studied on 18 male middle and long distance runners in high schools, who were top level athletes. The purpose was to obtain a suggestion of improvement of anaerobic threshold (AT) and endurance performance. The results als follows. 1. The significant relationship was recognized between VO2max and VO2@ VT, it was suggested that high VO2max possessed a possiblity of improvement of AT. 2. The significant relationship was not recognized between VO2max and every running acity on a top level athletes. 3. The significant relationship was recognized between VO2@VT and performance of 3000m, 5000m and 10km, And, the significant relationship was recognized between %VO2max@VT and performance of 10km. It was suggested that the long distance running is effective to improvement of AT. 4. The performance of 800m and 1000m running as middle distance running were highly related to the event of sprint and long distance running. Specially, the performance of 1000m running has validity and possibility as the means of long distance running training / 中・長距離走に高い成績をもつ男子高校生18名を対象にして,持久性競技成績とVO2max,VTおよび短・中・長距離の走能力との相互関係を検討し,ATの改善および競技成績の向上への示唆を得ようとした。結果は,以下の通りである。1.VO2max-VO2@VTの間に有意な相関を認め,高いVO2maxを有することは,ATを引き上げる可能性をもつことが示唆された。2.トップレベルの競技者では,VO2maxとすべての走能力の間に有意な相関が認められなかった。3.VO2@VTと3000m,5000mおよび10㎞走の間に有意な相関が認められた。また, %VO2max@VTと10㎞走の間に有意な相関が認められ,AT向上のために,長距離種目の有効性が示唆された。 4.800mおよび1000m走の中距離種目は,短距離および長距離種目の両方に高い相関を認め,特に,1000m走のトレーニング手段としての有効性と可能性を見出した。
