Abstract: Trace elements in edible shellfish, AGEMAKI, Sinonovacula constricta and VIVIPARA, Cipangopaludina japanica were determined by non-destructive neutron activation analysis (INAA) using a high resolution Ge/Li/detectors. The powder samples were subjected to the neutron irradiations in reactor for 2 min at a thermal flux of 1.5×1012n・cm-2・sec-1 and for 5 hrs at a thermal flux of 3.2×1012n・cm-2・sec-1. Thus, seven elements in the former short irradiation and thrity-four elements in the latter long irradiation can be analysed. Thirty-four elements in the AGEMAKI and twenty-seven elements in the VIVIPARA were determined by INAA. The decreasing order of content of the trace element is as follows : Cl (93000ppm) > Na (64000ppm) > Mg (8500ppm) > Ca (8000ppm) > Al (1200ppm) > Fe (8600ppm) > Br (570ppm) > Te (190ppm) > Zn (170ppm) > Sr (170ppm) > Mn (77ppm) in the AGEMAKI, K (920ppm) > Na (4000ppm) Fe (1600ppm) > Zn (420ppm) > Ga (350ppm) > Sr (170ppm) > Ni (79ppm) > Br (75ppm) in the VIVIPARA. / (1)アゲマキの一般化学成分はアサリのそれと酷似していた。放射化分析によって測定された元素はアゲマキで34元素,タニシで27元素で,その含量は前者はCl>Na>Mg>Ca>Al〉Fe〉Brの順に多く,・後者はK>Na>Fe>Zn〉Ga>Srの順に多かった。(2)アゲマキのFeは88%が水不溶性の型で,Caは30%が低分子結合型または遊離型として存在した。また,ZnとPはFeとCaに比べて熱水可溶の高分子結合型が多かった。(3)アゲマキのTCA可溶の低分子ペプチドには微量のCa,Fe,ZnおよびPが存在し,酸可溶性複合体を形成していることが明らかとなった。またそのペプチドのアミノ酸組成はリジン,グルタミン酸,アスパラギン酸,スレオニン,セリン,グリシン,アラニンが多かった。
