Abstract: The Raman, infrared and NMR spectra of C2H5-X-C2H5(X=O, S, Se, Te) were measured in order to study the molecular structures. The vibrational spectra of these substances are very simple and can be interpreted on the basis of a non-rigid D3d symmetry with rotating CH2 group. This also is strongly supported by NMR spectra. An assignment of the fundamental frequencies for each compound is proposed.
