Abstract: Comparing University IR (Institutional Research) with Corporate IR (Investor Relations), we investigate the aim and activities of University IR. From this point of view, University IR is defined as “strategic management responsibility that integrates finance, communication, marketing (through researches, decision makings by campus leaders and policy makers, development of curriculum and programs, organizational optimization, resource arrangements) and compliance to enable the most effective communication between other universities and institutes, banks and companies, evaluation organizations, students and alumni, parents and teachers, to ultimately contributes to a university’s fair valuation’. Using this definition, we discuss how to introduce University IR and possibility of constructing student behavior models. At last section, we explain the plan of Nagasaki University educational IR.
