Abstract: Concrete filled steel tubular (CFT) members become popular to be used as building structure. However,shearing failure modes of rectangle CFT have not been studied enough in previous studies. Test has been conducted for eleven CFT short columns with shear-span ratios (a/D) under 1.0. The test results of the yield strength and shearing capacity are discussed through investigation of the obtained load vs. deformation relations.
