Abstract: In order to make clear the developmental stages of Culex pipiens pallens sensitive to photoperiodic conditions for the gonoactivity, the larvae in each stage, the pupae and the females just after emergence were transferred from long photoperiod to short photoperiod or vice versa, and the resulting females were examined for the states of follicles and feeding activity. It seems that the larvae in each stage and pupae are influenced by short photoperiod, and the follicular development and feeding activity of the females are inhibited, as far as the females are kept under short phothperiod. When the period for exposure to short photoperiod in immature stages is longer, the effect on the gonoactivity indicated by follicular development is generally stronger, while the exposure after emergence to short photoperiod does not seem effective in inhibiting the feeding activity and follicular development. Readily develop, however, the follicles of the gonoinactive females, which have experienced the short photoperiod in their larval and pupal stages, if exposed to the long photoperiod after emergence. / アカイエカの光周条件を感受する発育段階を明らかにするために,本種の各令期の幼虫,蛹及び羽化直後♀を各種温度下で長日から短日に,あるいは短日から長日に移し変えて飼育し,羽化♀成虫の吸血率及び濾胞の発育状態を調べ,次の結果を得た.どの令期の幼虫及び蛹の何れから短日に入れても,そのまま羽化後も短日条件下で飼育し続ける限り♀濾胞の発育と吸血活性は抑制され,その抑制の程度は短日にさらされている期間が長いほど一般には強い.しかし羽化後長日に移すと速かに濾胞は発育し,吸血活性は高まる.
