Abstract: Attempts to immunize fowls actively and passively against Pl. gallinaceum were made. Sera of fowls in chronic stage of the infection were employed as immune sera, and suspensions in saline of formalized erthrocytes heavily infected and avian tubercle bacilli as an adjuvant were used for the vaccination. 1) Intravenous injections of fowls with an immune serum, in daily dosage 0.2cc/100g for periods of 11-21 days after inoculations, showed some effect in delaying the incubation period including the lag phase. 2) The effectiveness of vaccination was demonstrated in that the parasitaemia was in some extent inhibited. 3) On occasion the relationship between malarial anaemia and parasitaemia were observed: Anemia did not always run parallel with parasitaemia in intensity, and it was often found that the acme of anaemia arose 1-2 days after the peak of parasitaemia.
