Abstract: The discrete frequency noise (DFN) which is a kind of aerodynamic noise is closely connected with Karman vortices that forms at the trailing edge into the wake. In this paper, we proposed a convenient method to predict of DFN that based not on the experiments but on the simple flow calculation, that is, discrete vortex method. From this method, the wake characteristics and the fluctuations of circulation around the body could be calculated in good agreement with experiments. The source distribution of DFN is almost gathered to the trailing edge, and at the thick blade it is extended to direction of the leading edge. The prediction of the DFN using the calculated and suggested quantities makes about ±3dB accuracy.
