Abstract: An approximate method is proposed for analyzing the bending problem of laminated rectangular and triangular plates. An equivalent rectangular plate is used to analyze the bending problem of triangular plates. Based on the first-order shear-deformation theory, the partial differential equations have been established. By making use of numerical integration, the solutions for these equations can be obtained in discrete forms. Numerical results are obtained for some laminated rectangular and triangular plates. The efficiency and accuracy of the numerical solutions by the proposed method are investigated.
