Abstract: In the authors’ previous report the numerical analysis was presented on natural convection from an isothermal horizontal plate. This report presents the numerical results by CFD analysis for the velocity and temperature fields and the local and average Nusselt numbers for natural convection from an isothermal vertical cylinder with horizontal bottom surface. The effects of the cylinder height, cylinder temperature and Prandtle number on the velocity and temperature fields and heat transfer are discussed.
