Abstract: The widespread practice of multiple banking is evident among the corporate borrowers of Bangladesh. In this respect, this paper aims to examine the impact of multiple borrowing and reliance on bank credit to the profitability of firms. In order to do this we have conducted multivariate analysis to construct a model for identifying the predicting variables of profitability. As a result of the study, we have found that equity exhibited positive and loan showed negative relationship with profitability, which indicates that firms having higher financial leverage are prone to be a losing concern in terms of profitability.
